When job candidates are considering a position, they often compare the employee benefits and perks that company offers or what some call positive workplace culture. Whether it is weekly-catered breakfasts, free on-site gym memberships, or dry-cleaning services, your employees appreciate any additional benefits for their hard work. Unfortunately a 401K and health benefits may not cut it anymore when these companies offer a few above and beyond perks:

Google

– Employees are allowed to bring their dogs to the office.
– If a Googler passes away, their spouse receives half their salary for the next 10 years!

Apple

– Beer Bash – This event is held every few weeks and offers free beer and live music.

McDonald’s

– They provide help with costs associated with adopting a child under the age of 18.

Salesforce

– Employees receive six days of paid volunteer time off a year, and if they use all six, they receive a $1,000 grant to donate to a charity of their choice.

Mattel

– Friday half days, all year long.

Adobe

– Shuts down the entire company for one week in December and one week over the summer.

If your company can afford it, take a look into rewarding your team. Inexpensive, yet unique company perks could include free smart tablets, a paid day off for birthdays, or an in-house masseuse. Focus on the company perks that are most important to you, your employees, and your culture. Your company will be rewarded for it.
